Frequently asked questions

Is Docufacture enough to comply with the French 2026 mandate?

Docufacture generates invoices in the legally required Factur-X format, validated against EN 16931, with compliant sequential numbering and archiving. For domestic French B2B invoices, transmission will also run through a registered platform (PDP); Docufacture produces the compliant documents and PDP transmission is on our roadmap. Most merchants preparing for the mandate need compliant generation first. Ask your accountant what applies to your situation.

Do I need a PDP?

If you issue domestic B2B invoices in France, transmission via a PDP becomes part of the reform. If you sell mainly B2C, your obligation is e-reporting of transaction data rather than e-invoicing per invoice. Our French guides explain the difference.

Which formats does Docufacture generate?

Factur-X (France), ZUGFeRD and XRechnung (Germany), all EN 16931 profiles, plus standard PDF invoices, credit notes and packing slips.

Where is my data stored?

Everything is hosted and processed in the European Union: application and database in the EU, document storage in the EU, email delivery from Ireland. Details in our Privacy Policy.

Can my accountant use the data?

Yes. Export your full invoice register as CSV, or as a DATEV-format file that German accountants can import directly.

What does it cost?

The free plan includes 50 documents a month, of which up to 5 may be fully compliant Factur-X, XRechnung or ZUGFeRD e-invoices, with automatic sending. Starter at $9/month gives unlimited documents with 50 compliant e-invoices a month, removes the Docufacture footer, and adds bulk printing and accountant exports. Compliance at $19/month makes e-invoices unlimited and adds VAT tools, VIES validation and the compliance dashboard. E-invoices count toward your document total; the e-invoice line is how many of your documents may use compliant e-formats. Prices in USD, billed through Shopify.
